										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When you think about the shape of the Earth, you are probably imagining something similar to a perfect round ball, but in actual fact the Earth&#8217;s shape is closer to an ellipsoid than a sphere. It is mainly because as the Earth spins, gravity is pressing the Earth, similar to someone sitting on a soccer ball. Thus gravity causes that the Earth starts flatten at the poles and bulges at the equator making it an ellipsoid.</p>
