The most diverse species

With a whopping 5.5 million different species, insects consists of 75% of all animal species. Oddly enough you’d think that ants have the most species, after all ants are on 6 out of 7 continents. But the crown goes to Beetles, with 1 million species they make 40% of insect species and 25% of all animal species. Now 1 million different species may not sound like much, but there are 7.8 million different animal species in total.
